Neriage – swirled colored clay

Neriage is a Japanese term for pottery made with colored clay*. It’s also referred to as “agateware.” In this case, I took equal amounts of white clay and brown clay and let them swirl together as I threw this canister on the wheel. Sometimes this results in a great pattern, and I leave it alone.
